Phishing

New information - Please be advised! 11/13/2009
It has been brought to our attention by NACHA (The Electronic Payments Association) a Malicious Email that may have been sent to our customers (details listed below). Please be aware that at this point we are not sure if any of our customers have received this email from NACHA but to be pro‐active and alert our customers. If you have any questions please contact your banker.

Random individuals and/or companies may have received a falsified e‐mail with the subject title “Rejected ACH Transaction.” This e‐mail appears to be from NACHA – The Electronic Payments Association telling them that there is a problem with an ACH transaction they have originated. The e‐mail includes a link which redirects the individual to a fake web page which appears like the NACHA website and contains a link which is almost certainly executable virus with malware. See sample below. Please be aware that the alert did not originate from NACHA, the website does NOT belong to NACHA’s, and please do not click on the link.

For additional information, please go to: www.nacha.org.

Sample email:
Dear bank account holder,

Association. Please review the transaction report by clicking the link below:      Unauthorized ACH Transaction Report (this is the how the link is presented)
